Teaching

As well as teaching composition at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Purcell School, I also teach composition privately. If you’re interested in taking lessons, feel free to get in touch with any questions.

My teaching is completely tailored to the needs of each student. My aim is to promote curiosity, playfulness, and joy in making, so that students feel confident in pursuing their own artistic interests and creative goals. I work with people of all ages and levels of experience — people at the start of their creative journeys, to professional creators who would like occasional advice or feedback.

I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Performance Teaching (Higher Education) with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I have worked with young people through Wigmore’s Come and Create, LPO Soundworks, Barbican’s Future Band, Inspire Day as a BBC Proms Inspire Ambassador, and through mentoring on Aldeburgh Young Musicians and the Barbican Guildhall Young Songwriters’ Collective. I have also worked with Britten Sinfonia and Saffron Hall in delivering a community workshop.

Whatever it is you’d like to explore, I’d love to hear from you!
